Grade 9 Stage Walk
It is that time of year again where we take the opportunity to celebrate and bid farewell to our wonderful Grade 9 cohort.
Stage Crossing
- Date – Monday, June 24
- Time – 10:30am (doors open at 10:00am)
- Location – MHS Main Gym
Please note: Due to the City of Calgary fire code we are limited in the capacity that we can accommodate for this event. Every Gr. 9 student will be provided with 2 tickets only for this event that they can distribute to family members. Please keep these tickets in a safe place as they will be required to be presented on the day.
Students were given their tickets prior to their exam on Thursday, June 13.
Classroom Placement 2024-25
We are still in the process of teacher staffing, building timetables and class lists. Please know that our staff create class lists carefully with the many different needs of our students in mind. Therefore, no class changes will be considered. Class lists will be finalized and available at the end of August.
Sports Day – June 25
We will be running our annual sports day on Tuesday, June 25. Our grade 9 Leadership students have been busy at work setting up fun school wide events to take part in. In anticipation of this day, we have invited five food trucks to come join our school: Frozen Assets, Lemon Heaven, The Burrito Mexican Food Truck, Ribo Chicko and Pink Door Pizza. Grade 7 through 9 students will be able to purchase from the trucks from 10:00-11:30, and Grade 4 through 6 students will be able to purchase from the trucks from 11:30-1:30.
Members of the community are able to stop by after 1:30 to come purchase from the trucks as well. We are looking forward to this fun end of year celebration!
Learning Commons News
LC Lunchtime Club: There will be no clubs running next week. Hopefully students will enjoy using all their new “old-school” activity knowledge in the summer months. Mrs. Litwin looks forward to hearing in September if anyone has perfected their favourite yo-yo trick, made an amazing paper airplane or knitted a cool scarf. Have a great summer everyone!
Year-End Business
Fees for lost library and novel study books have all been placed on school accounts. Please ensure that these fees are paid this week to ensure that our school has funds to cover replacement costs. It is not too late to have the fee reversed if books are returned this week. If you have any questions, please direct them to Mrs. Litwin at kilitwin@cbe.ab.ca. Thank you.

Stampeders Family Day
Hello MHS Students and Families
My name is Billy Hale, and I head up our CBE Partnerships with Calgary Sports & Entertainment. We have a special ticket offer for the Stampeders Family Day game on Saturday, June 29! Join us for a fun filled evening with tons of activities at McMahon Stadium while taking in the game!
$5 from every ticket sold from the discounted ticket link HERE , will go directly to the school you select at checkout. Schools that have less than 20 tickets accredited will have the donation pooled and donated back to EducationMatters.
The school that sells the most tickets and tops the leaderboard will win a visit from a Stampeders player and Ralph the Dog! To qualify for the visit, a minimum of 40 tickets sold is required.
