Option Fees

School fees for Semester 2 options have been added to student accounts and payment can be made online using your MyCBE Account.  These courses run on a cost recovery basis and when they are not paid, we are unable to purchase the supplies and products needed to make these courses engaging and of high impact for your kids.  We still have many fees for options from Semester 1 outstanding.  Please log into your MyCBE account at your earliest convenience and confirm that fees are up to date.  Payment can also be made with cash, credit or debit in the main office during school hours.

Week Ahead in Athletics

Congratulations on our Senior Girls volleyball team for finishing first, and our Senior boys for finishing second, in our Monster Smash tournament this past week!

With the recent CUPE strike action, Volleyball will still be running as normal, with only a slight adjustment to morning and afternoon practices. Until further notice, morning practices will begin at 7:30am and after school practices will end by 4:30pm.

Lunch Club News

Our yarn club has been cast off until next year, but we have many new crocheters, finger-knitters and pom-pom makers in our midst.  Yarn crafts are a wonderful way to unwind, while feeling the pride of creating something impressive with little effort.  We hope that the students can continue with their newly honed skills.

Next week we will start up our paper airplane club.  Students will be given a new model aircraft to recreate each week or they can try out their own knowledge of aerodynamics and engineer their own paper plane.   Each lunch break club will end with a trial run in the flight zone.

The grade breakdown for lunch club is as follows, and takes place during the second half of lunchbreak:

Mondays:  Grades 5

Tuesdays: Grade 6

Wednesdays: Grade 4

Thursdays:  Grades 7-9

Highlight of the Week

We will continue to highlight books by some of our favourite black authors in recognition of black history month.

Quote of the Week

"I look at books as being a form of activism. Sometimes they'll show us a side of the world that we might not have known about. "-  Angie Thomas, author of The Hate U Give
