Principal Message

Appreciation

Thank you to our School Council and all the families who provided snacks and lunch items for our staff appreciation lunch.  Putting on a lunch is so very thoughtful and takes a lot of time and effort; we absolutely loved it.  Thank you so very much!

Class Placement

We have created homeroom classes for next year and have spent considerable time engaging in this process to ensure balanced homerooms, that take into account many factors.  We do not entertain class changes unless there are significant and documented extenuating circumstances.  Thank you for your understanding as we build homerooms designed to increase academic achievement and build student confidence and resilience.

Option Courses

Option course selection for grades 7-9 is now complete.  If your child did not submit an option request form, they have been placed in options where space was available and as such, we do not have the room nor flexibility to make changes.  We are fortunate to be able to continue offering a wide variety of options and complementary classes.  There are some fantastic offerings.  For students who completed the option form, we were able to secure placement into either top 1 or 2 choices for students.

Year End

We like to do a lot of enrichment activities at MHS, and the end of June is an opportune time to come together to celebrate a great year with great kids and a highly supportive parent community.

Enjoy your weekend,

Mr. Martin

If you would like to schedule a meeting with your child’s teacher to discuss the IPP, please contact your child's teacher to arrange.

Thank you for your continued support.

Week Ahead in Athletics

All CMLSAA sports have wrapped up this year, congratulations to all athletes who successfully represented MHS in athletics for this school year. Our Junior Touch Football team took home the championship in this past weekend's tournament.

Students are currently emptying their PE lockers in class and should be bringing their belongings home.

Sports Day will be running on June 24, with more information to come.

Learning Commons

Lunch Club News

Students are welcome to come into the Learning Commons during lunch break next week to play board games with friends or read.

Popcorn Party Winner!

Congratulations to Ms. Porterfield’s 7-5 class who won a popcorn party for their best guess as to how many books were checked out this year at MH!  The answer was 14,063 books.

Year-End Business

Please check your child’s MyCBE accounts to see if there have been any lost book fees placed on them.  Library books were all due to be returned on Monday, June 9, and those still checked out are now assumed to be lost.  We would always rather have the book returned, so if the book is found and returned to the LC, fees will be removed.  Thank you.
