 Author Quote of the Week

“So please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookshelf on the wall.” - Roald Dahl

(author of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory)

It’s Contest Time!

Students can enter to win a $20 gift card (Chapters or Tim Hortons, their choice), by creating a short (3-4 sentence) movie trailer script for a twisted fairy tale from their imaginations, and putting it in the draw box in the L.C.  They could choose to change who the “bad guy” is, change the genre, setting, or add any other story-twisting component that they can envision.  Their creations will be displayed in the L.C. after the draw is completed (February 5).

For Example:  "On Sowturn, a world were no pigs are safe, the Cyborg Wolf-251 is always on the prowl.  They know in order to survive they must make the ultimate spaceship.  But how?  They can run but they can’t hide.”
